Benni Heading Out To Watch Man City As Part Of UEFA Pro License

Cape Town City head coach Benni McCarthy will on Monday be heading out to the United Kingdom where he will go one step closer to completing his UEFA Pro License.

Manchester City will play host to FC Basel in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League and City coach McCarthy will be present at the match, along with a group of coaches, who are set to complete their UEFA Pro License.

McCarthy explained that, as part of the program, the coaches will have to analyse a Champions League encounter and are lucky enough to witness the English Premier League giants in action in the prestigious competition.

“I will be at the Manchester City and Basel (Champions League) game, because we have to do a club visit and we have to watch Champions League, but with everyone who is on the Pro License course and at the match and then we get put in groups and one group will manage and (find) solutions for Man City (and so on). So we have to assist the Champions League game and then the next day we do the club visit which would be at the Manchester City training academy,” McCarthy explained to the media.

He then went on to reveal that despite him being away from his coaching duties in the Mother City, chairman John Comitis was always aware that he wanted to complete his UEFA Pro License in coaching.

“And then I am away April, 30 until May, 03, and then that is the one where we go to the FIFA headquarters, so I will be away but it is not like John (Comitis) didn’t know I told them that I wanted to finish my Pro License and he said otherwise, so I ain't missing out and waiting another year, rather get it over and done with,” he added.
